Akshay Kumar ‘shocked and speechless’ after Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad

A tragic aviation incident unfolded on Thursday afternoon as an Air India flight bound for London’s Gatwick Airport crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad. The aircraft, carrying 232 passengers and 12 crew members, went down near a residential area, sending shockwaves across the country. One of the first to respond publicly was Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who expressed his anguish over the incident, calling it “shocking and speechless.”

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Akshay wrote, “Shocked and speechless at the Air India crash. Only prayers at this time ????.” His brief but heartfelt message resonated with many, especially as visuals of the horrifying crash began to circulate online. Plumes of black smoke, flaming debris, and emergency crews rushing to the scene painted a grim picture of the catastrophe.

Air India released a statement acknowledging the incident and assured the public that they are working to ascertain facts and provide timely updates through their website and social media handles. “At this moment, we are ascertaining the details and will share further updates at the earliest,” the airline posted on X.

Apart from Akshay Kumar, other Bollywood celebrities, including Sonu Sood, Riteish Deshmukh, Sunny Deol, and Parineeti Chopra, have expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to the victims and their families. The film industry, often seen rallying in times of national distress, has come together once again in collective mourning.
